Green Peacock Beauty With Beautiful Fur





Green Peacock or scientific name Pavo muticus is a species of peacock. Peacock green or often called Green Peacock Peaflow or Java is one of three species of peacock in the world. These beautiful animals live in the forests of the open grassland plains with low to high. The green peacock is spread in China, Vietnam and Indonesia.

But do you know what that peacock Green? Green Peacock bird is one of the birds of three species of peacock. Like the other birds found in the tribe Phasianidae, Peacock Green is a beautiful coat. Feathers golden green. Adult male birds are very large, can reach 300cm in length, with a very long tail cover. There is a crest on its head upright. Birds females are smaller than male birds. Less shiny feathers, grayish green and decorated with feathers without head coverings.


Green Peacock population scattered in the forest open meadows in the People's Republic of China, Indochina and Java, Indonesia. Previously Green Peacock is found also in India, Bangladesh and Malaysia, but now extinct there. Although very large, Peacock Green is a clever bird to fly. In the breeding season, male birds showing off his tail feathers in front of female birds. Tail feathers cover is opened to form fan-shaped eyes with freckles. Female birds incubate the three to six eggs. Green Peacock bird food consists of various seeds, shoots of grass and leaves, various insects, as well as various types of small animals such as spiders, worms and small lizards. Green Peacock population is declining. This is caused by habitat destruction and poaching. This beautiful rare birds are hunted for their fur or traded as pets star.

To avoid the extinction of this rare bird protected by law. Today, on the island of Java Green Peacock number only about 800 tail only. (Ervina / Kidnesia / compass)
